Sabotaging Party’s ideological ground – unchangeable plot of hostile forces

No matter what hostile forces say, practice is always the most accurate measure to test doctrines and guidelines set out by a political party. Remarkable achievements, gained since the August Revolution and particularly in the country’s 30-year reform, are persuasive evidence due to which nobody can distort and deny the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam and its ideological ground.

It is not an incidental that Ho Chi Minh was honoured as “Vietnamese Hero of  National Liberation and Great Man of Culture” by The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The active and self-conscious response to studying and following of Ho Chi Minh’s moral example mentioned in directives of the Politburo (10th and 11th tenure) from party members, cadres, and numerous compatriots both at home and abroad indicates widespread effect and vitality of Ho Chi Minh’s thought and his moral example in today’s social life.

Over the past years, the hostile forces and political opportunists have rabidly and repeatedly denied our uni-party regime. They have unreasonably requested political pluralism and a multi-party regime; separation of powers, Western-model democratic and human rights; building a completely private capitalist economy; “depoliticization” of the armed forces, which is a despicable trick that not any one could realize immediately. The sabotage has been increasingly developed and changed in terms of tricks; taking advantage of globalization trend, outbreak of information technology and communications, our Party and State’s open policy and enhanced cooperation; also making use of our shortcomings and mistakes in management of economics, society, defence and security, a number of cadres and party members’ degradation of political ideology, morality, and way of life. Noticeably, addition to hostile forces and anti-communist extremists, recently there have also had an echo of discontented political opportunists and even a small number of cadres and party members exploited by them. In spite of efforts to hide, their unchangeable plot is  to abolish the Communist Party of Vietnam’s leadership. They believe that “The reform over nearly the past 30 years has remained a uni-party regime curtailing freedom and democracy, dividing the peoples”; thus, it is necessary to change the Party’s Platform, abandoning the guideline on building socialism, completely changing into a nationalist and democratic guideline with a focus on changing the uni-party regime into a democratic one.

Such opinions have been clarified for a long time and denied by history. A state’s democracy, development and stability are mainly dependent on the nature of governing party, not multi-party or uni-party regime. In the U.S., there are more than 100 political parties, but only 2 parties, namely Republican Party and Democratic Party, compete for power; in fact, they could be seen as one. It can be explained that the two parties all serve the interests of capitalist class and elite; they account for only 1% of the population while taking over 35% and 21% of national assets and income respectively. Worldwide there have had various studies on the relationship between pluralism, multi-party regime and democracy all of which have led to the conclusion as mentioned above. A study by Seoul National University (South Korea) on pluralism in several countries showed that not always pluralism and multi-party regime include democracy; in many case, this could bring about instability in politics, society, and dictatorship. Meanwhile, Vietnam with its uni-party regime has made considerable progress in socio-economic fields, maintaining political stability. In the similar historical and social conditions, not all states with pluralism could do. The study also said that “Choosing pluralism is an adventure for Vietnam as it would potentially pose a risk of political and social instability, missing the opportunity for economic development and people’s welfare improvement”. Recently that General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, head of Vietnam’s political system, was invited and received with the ceremony reserved for heads of state by many countries, such as France, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, particularly the U.S. and so on has indicated that the Communist Party of Vietnam’s status has been recognized and increasingly respected in international relations. This also shows us that by following Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought and holding the national independence and socialism flag, our Party has led our people and nation, overcoming difficulties and challenges, to innumerable victories; the people’s affection and faith for the Party have been increasingly tremendous; the status of Vietnam in international arena has been increasingly raised. Also, it indicates that all criticisms of Vietnam’s “uni-party” political regime are just prejudice and forced imposition for evil purposes.

Basic things mentioned above and Vietnamese revolution’s practice affirm that the Party’s ideological ground remains valid, being the “lodestar” leading our people to “a wealthy people, a powerful country, a democratic, equitable, and civilized society”. Thus, innovating, building and developing the country following the national independence and socialism path, on the basis of taking Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh’s thought as our Party’s ideological ground are extremely sound and appropriate to the mainstream of the times.

The United States has more than 100 political parties, but only two parties are the Democratic Party and Republican Party took turns in power. And the Democratic Party or the Republican Party in power, the people of color are still being persecuted, and the countries in the world still to be “bloodbath” for the profits of the American owners.
So do not expect to follow the US model, if not the world want to be “a bloodbath”.
And do not anyone take the US model for Vietnam to follow, not good.
